Cardolite NC-311 is a resin with 80% solids in mineral spirits used as a binder for friction products. Along with hexamine as the crosslinking agent, NC-311 provides a heat curable thermosetting system that offers all the desirable characteristics of impact strength, flexibility and thermal stability. Friction products made with CNSL have superior heat resistance compared to those made with drying oils (such as linseed oil), and do not give problems caused by oil bleeding. Basic Uses Cardolite NC-311 offers good viscosity processing For laminated drum linings. This is a high molecular weight material suitable for both asbestos and non-asbestos linings.
